Through the RCEA Commercial EV Rebate Program, RCEA customers are eligible for a one time $2,000 rebate after purchase of a new or used light-duty electric vehicle (EV)!

Read below for details on eligibility and application instructions.

How to Participate

  1. Purchase your electric vehicle
  2. Complete an RCEA EV Rebate Application form
    • Fill out your application online or print it and fill it out. Copies are also available at our office.
  3. Submit your completed application package to RCEA
    • A completed application package includes:
      • Completed RCEA EV Rebate Application
      • Copy of your vehicle Proof of Purchase
      • Copy of your California DMV Registration
    • Send your completed application package using one of the following:
      • Email: ev@redwoodenergy.org
      • Fax: (707) 269-1777
      • Mail or Drop off: 633 3rd Street, Eureka, CA 95501
  4. Receive your rebate
    • Once your application package is approved, you will receive your rebate in the mail within 30 business days of approval.

Applicant Eligibility

To be eligible for the RCEA Commercial EV Rebate Program, the RCEA account associated with the commercial entity must have been active for at least 6 months.

Maximum of two rebates per business associated with the RCEA account.
One rebate allowed per vehicle.

Vehicle Eligibility

Eligible vehicles must have the following characteristics:

  • New or Used Battery Electric Vehicles (BEV) only
  • Registered with the California DMV in Humboldt County
  • Purchased at a licensed dealership
  • Purchased within 180 days of application submittal
  • Classed as light duty
  • Model year within 8 years or newer at the time of purchase
  • Odometer reading of 75,000 miles or less
  • Have not received an RCEA rebate within the past 24 months

FAQs

RCEA has launched various EV rebates in the past. However, this current rebate was launched in March 2025.

Our rebate is awarded on a first come, first serve basis. Please be aware that funding may be limited for this program.

No, you must purchase your vehicle before applying for an RCEA EV Rebate.

No, only plug-in vehicles that run solely on electricity are eligible for this rebate.

There is a maximum of two EV Rebates per commercial entity associated with the RCEA account service address, but only one EV Rebate is allowed per vehicle.

No, RCEA does not currently offer any programs for MD/HD vehicles. However, there are plenty of externally-funded programs available to MD/HD fleet owners. A list of these external programs can be found on our EV & EV Charging Incentives page.

Yes! RCEA is also offering a Residential EV Rebate Program.
