Flex Alerts – Information on Resources
A Flex Alert is an urgent call issued by the California Independent System Operator (CAISO) to immediately conserve electricity and shift demand to off peak hours to ease strain on the grid. This usually happens in the evening hours when solar generation is going offline and consumers are returning home and using their heating/cooling, lights, and appliances.
