Who Killed the Electric Car?

This 2006 documentary film explains the rise and fall of GM’s EV1, the first mass-produced all-electric vehicle, and other EVs like the Ford Th!nk and Toyota RAV4. Passionate EV drivers rallied together in a grassroots effort to stop the vehicles from heading to the crusher and eventually formed Plug In America.

 

Revenge of the Electric Car

This 2011 follow up to Who Killed the Electric Car? follows four trailblazers; Elon Musk (Telsa Motors CEO), Carlos Gosen (CEO and President of Renault of France and Nissan of Japan), Bob Luzen (Vice Chairman of GM), and Greg Abbott (Californian EV mechanic) who are fighting to bring back EVs.

There are many great EV videos available on YouTube, but one of the most popular EV web series is Fully Charged, hosted by Robert Llewellyn.

 

Electrified – The Current State of Electric Vehicles

Filmmaker Ryan Hunter created this 37-minute 2019 documentary that explores many aspects of EV adoption. It also includes interviews with Plug In America co-founders Chelsea Sexton and Paul Scott.

 

And We Go Green

Available on Hulu

This 2019 documentary film, produced by Leonardo DiCaprio, focuses on the rise of Formula E electric car racing. Formula E is capturing the eyes of millions while showing spectators that EVs are high-performance vehicles.
